Fundraisers hit out at parking wardens for ticketing their cars while taking part in a money-raising event.
But a council's charitable parking services has now written off the £30 fixed-penalty fines for nine people who were taking part in Holland's ninth annual Coastal Dogathon, which raises cash for brain charity Headway.
Mary Beverley, of Headway, said the charity advised participants to park in Hazlemere Road car park on Sunday but was unaware charges had been introduced.
"The last eight years the car park wasn't a charging car park and we didn't check that it had changed to a pay and display," she said.
"We spoke to the council, who have been very understanding and supportive and have waived the fees."
