The fate of hundreds of potential developments in Tendring - including a "new town" near Frating - are set be revealed.
The district is bracing itself for a report which governs development for the next four years.
It will include a decision on the Oasis site near Frating.
Tendring Council wanted to designate 27 hectares of farmland near Hare Green for a business park.
There were fears adjacent land would be designated for housing leading to the creation of a new town.
More than 6,000 people signed a petition against the project, including Frating, Little Bentley, Great Bromley and Little Bromley parish councils.
