Traffic police are appealing for information after a serious motorbike crash in Clacton.
A 28-year-old man crashed into a lamp post in Jaywick Lane on Friday, at about 12.05am.
He was riding a blue Kawasaki ZX 900cc motorcycle.
The rider, from Maldon, was taken to Colchester General Hospital and later transferred to the Royal London Hospital.
It is understood he is in a critical condition.
Police have asked for witnesses to come forward.
A spokesman for Clacton police said: "We are appealing for anyone in the Jaywick Lane area late on Thursday night who witnessed the crash or saw a bike fitting the description to contact police."
