THE dates of a ballot offering Colchester town centre business the chance to vote for a Business Improvement District (Bid), have been set.
Businesses in the Bid boundary will receive a ballot form, returning envelope and information about the Bid, by post by the end of October.
A postal vote will then be held between November 1 and 27.
There will be one vote per building, regardless of the size of the business.
However businesses with a lower rateable value than £10,000 will not be asked to vote, and they will also not pay a Bid levy if the vote is successful.
A vote will only be in favour if at least 51 per cent vote yes for a Bid.
For further information about the Bid contact Chris Kirvan, Bid Manager on 01206 760000.
