POLICE have launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead.
Officers were called at 2.45pm on Wednesday after concerns were raised about the welfare of a man in Forest Road, Colchester.
After police and paramedics from the ambulance service arrived at the address, on the corner of Hawthorn Avenue, the man was pronounced dead.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Anyone with information about this incident, or who may have access to nearby CCTV or dashcam footage, is asked to call 101 quoting the incident number 694 of 22/08.

The East of England Ambulance Service confirmed they sent three of their Hazardous Area Response Team vehicles, an ambulance and an ambulance officer to the scene.
A spokesman said: "We were called to address in Forest Road, Colchester shortly after 2.30pm yesterday following reports of a male in his 50s that was not breathing.
"Despite the best efforts of all involved, the male was sadly pronounced dead."
