BOSSES at an electricity company have apologised after people all over Colchester were hit with power cuts.
Most of the outages lasted less than a minute on Saturday.
Power cuts were reported in businesses in Colchester town centre, Old Heath, Monkwick and Wivenhoe.
A spokesman for UK Power Networks which maintains power cables across the South East of England said: "We have had two interruptions to power today, each lasting less than 60 seconds which were affecting customers in Colchester.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
The company's website says a fault occurred on a high voltage electricity overhead line in the local area which is causing the issues.
