A TEENAGER has been arrested after a girl suffered slash injuries to her face.
Police were called to Colchester town centre at roughly 5.15pm on Tuesday.
They had been called after reports a 16-year-old girl suffered a slash injury to her nose.
A 14-year-old girl has been arrested in connection with the incident.
She is in custody.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We received a call at around 5.15pm today after a girl was attacked in Lion Walk, Colchester.
"We received reports that a 16-year-old girl suffered a slash to her nose by a girl armed with a knife.
"We have since arrested a 14-year-old girl and she has been taken to custody for questioning.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Colchester CID quoting incident 1010 of 26/06 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
