A new route option for the A120 has now been decided.

Essex County Council Tweeted to say option D was the favoured route option for an improved A120 between Braintree and the A12.

Option D leaves the current A120 at Galleys Corner junction.

It heads south past Cressing and Siver End, passes a quarry and site for a planned Incinerator and rejoin the A12 at Junction 23 just west of Kelvedon.

Gazette:

Option D has been chosen.

As part of the initial feasibility stage, some 68 possible options were examined.

The public were asked for their views on five proposed route options in a public consultation during early 2017.

Councillor Kevin Bentley announced the decision on behalf of Essex County Council at an event in Earls Colne today.

Once the favoured route option decision clears the statutory call-in period, it will be recommended to Highways England and the Department for Transport for inclusion in the Road Investment Strategy 2, which is the next funding period for the strategic road network.
