Police searching for missing teenager Natasha Coombs have found a body.

The discovery was made at about 7.30pm on Friday.

The body was in the undergrowth near the railway line about a mile from Manningtree Railway Station heading towards Colchester.

Police last night blocked the roads either side of the site of the discovery - Long Road East and Dedham Road.

It is believed to be a woman's body.

Natasha, from Dovercourt, was captured on CCTV boarding the 10.42pm Manningtree-bound train at Ipswich on July 27.

The 17-year-old had been out for a meal with friends.

Mobile phone records indicate she was in Manningtree after 11pm.

Former boyfriend Joshua Brennan made an appeal for help in finding her on Friday. Her parents and grandparents had also issued pleas for information earlier.

A police spokesman said British Transport Police and Essex Police are continuing investigations and a post-mortem examination is set to be held.
