A play strategy which could net £288,862 has been given the green light by Tendring Council's cabinet.

The cash will see new multi-use games areas for teenagers in Frinton and Frating worth a combined £150,000 if the bid to the Big Lottery is successful.

The authority will also spend about £88,000 on improvements to play areas.

In the region of £50,000 will be spent on signs.

The play strategy will enable Tendring Council to get more cash from developers through planning agreements.

The cabinet approved the play strategy yesterday and gave the head of leisure the go-ahead to apply for the funding.
