A HOME developer has donated sacks full of presents to children who will be spending Christmas in hospital.

Staff from Linden Homes Eastern continued their Christmas tradition of four years and donated a variety of gifts to patients on Broomfield Hospital’s Phoenix Ward.

The company launches a Christmas appeal every year to support vulnerable members of the community.

Phoenix ward is home to children of all ages over the festive season and Linden Homes provided gifts suitable from new-borns all the way through to teenagers.

Trevor Dempsey, managing director, said: “It has been wonderful that we have had the opportunity to provide the children with gifts again for the fourth year in a row.

“Each time, seeing the children’s faces light up when we arrive and the kindness and gratitude from parents and children alike make this an absolutely brilliant experience.

“Once again, I have been overwhelmed with the generosity and kindness from the Linden Eastern team and community, I’m already looking forward to hopefully making next year our fifth year.”

Sue Hursit, lead play specialist at the children’s ward, said: “We have been so thrilled in the past by the gift donations from Linden Homes, we were absolutely delighted to welcome them back to the ward this year.

“Christmas at the ward can be a difficult time for both the children and their families. Whilst our key focus is to provide the best possible care to our patients, it is important, even more so at this time of year. To provide joy and appropriate entertainment for the children.”
