A ROAD has been closed following a collision between a child and a motorist.
The incident happened shortly before 4pm today.
Maldon Road has been closed in both directions between Cherry Garden Lane and Hyde Lane, in Danbury.
Motorists are told to expect long delays.
A spokesman from the East of England Ambulance Service said two people had been taken to hospital.
They added: "We were called at 3.24pm to an incident in Maldon Road, Danbury. We sent a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance officer, an ambulance, and the Essex and Herts air ambulance.
"One patient suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital in a non-life-threatening condition.
"A second patient is being taken to hospital in a non-life-threatening condition."
