Skaters will be rolling, flipping and spinning their way through the summer, thanks to a new skatepark.
A half-pipe has just been installed in Furze Hill, Mistley, for youngsters to use throughout the school holidays.
Michael Dew, a Manningtree town councillor, who has been behind the campaign to provide the facility for youngsters, said he was delighted.
He said: "This will be fabulous for young people.
"There has been a great deal of support for this and I hope it will be well supported by young people."
Mr Dew has conducted lots of questionnaires in schools and said the one thing that pupils said they wanted to see was a skatepark.
At a cost of £4,000, the money for the half-pipe was covered by Tendring Council, which paid 50 per cent, with the remaining costs met by Manningtree Town Council and Mistley, Lawford and Dedham parish councils.
