Ace! That was the verdict of dozens of youngsters at the opening of new tennis courts.
Colchester MP Bob Russell officially declared six new courts open, after council chiefs won a grant of £69,000 to revamp West End Tennis Centre in Eudo Road.
Funded by Barclays Bank's Spaces for Sports programme, the new facilities are designed to make tennis more accessible to ordinary families.
Sport bosses signalled their intentions by offering coaching for free at the opening celebration.
And to make children's first taste of tennis even sweeter, organisers served up Wimbledon-style strawberries and cream.
