A group of school children are spending three days at Essex University to find out what life is like for students.
The 32 youngsters, aged 15 and 16 and from schools across Colchester, are taking part in "Virtually a Student" to find out about higher education and options available in computer science and electronics.
The summer school is part of Aimhigher, a nationwide scheme to encourage more youngsters to go to university.
Not only do they have a chance to try the academic side of university, but they also get to sample the social side with mixing evenings.
During the event they live in university accommodation, eat on campus and find out about career opportunities and surviving on a tight budget.
