Darts legend Bobby George stepped up to the oche to launch a school sports day.
Youngsters were thrilled as Bobby "Dazzler" rang the bell to open the event at Colchester's Cherry Tree School.
After the races, the Ardleigh arrows man handed out prizes and signed autographs.
School spokesman Julie Booth said: "The children were thrilled to bits."
