KING COEL’S KITTEN FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR Saturday, gates 6pm. Castle Park, High Street, Colchester. £9 adult, £4.50 children (5-15 years old)

This is the 47th annual Fireworks Spectacular in Castle Park, from 6pm-8.30pm. Entertainment will include the parade of the guy and bonfire lighting, taking place prior the fireworks display. WEST BERGHOLT FIREWORKS Saturday, gates 5pm, Heathlands Primary School, New Church Road. £3.50 to £6.

Now in its 25th year the event also includes live music, a hog roast and fish and chips as well as sweets and glow goods stalls. For more information, go to www.heathlandsfireworks.co.uk

MERSEA ISLAND DISPLAY Saturday, gates 5pm, Waldegraves Holiday Park, Waldegraves Lane, Mersea. Free.

Main display is at 7.30pm and there will be a £5 charge for parking this year. As well as the fireworks, there will be live entertainment, children attractions including an inflatable area, and live music and food all night.

CLACTON PIER FIREWORKS DISPLAY Saturday, Clacton Pier, 1 North Sea, Clacton. Free.

Clacton Pier have thrown this free fireworks display for years with thousands of people coming to watch and enjoy the atmosphere. The fireworks normally start between 8pm and 9.30pm depending on weather and light levels.

MALDON FIREWORKS AT PROMENADE PARK Saturday, 6.30pm. Promenade Park, Park Drive, Maldon.

Thousands of people flock to the park to enjoy this display overlooking the water, organised by the Maldon Rotary Club with its huge bonfire as well as live music and entertainment.

NAYLAND BONFIRE AND FIREWORKS NIGHT Sunday, gates 6.30pm. Nayland Village Hall playing field, Church Lane (off Hight Street) Colchester. £4 adult, £1 children.

Fun for all the family from 7pm, with luminous necklaces and sparklers. Grab a bite of delicious barbecued hot dogs with sausages sourced locally as well as warming hot chocolate and mulled wine for the adults. Buy your tickets on the night.
