Charity water-biker Justin Humphrey has had to be rescued off the coast of Scotland - just days after setting off on his challenge.
Mr Humphrey, who is raising money for the local RNLI with his 2,200-mile journey, had to be rescued by lifeboatmen after getting lost in thick fog off Stonehaven, Scotland, on Monday night.
Yet despite the setback, the determined Frinton resident has vowed to carry on with the challenge.
As he prepared to set off on the next leg of his trip from Aberdeen Harbour, he told the Gazette: "I was worried for a moment in the mist, but the RNLI were brilliant."
Mr Humphrey explained how his Global Positioning System had gone down just after 6pm, leaving him stranded in the sea.
He said: "It was pretty rough and misty - I had no option but to call out to the lifeboat. They arrived within half an hour.
"I was confident they would find me because they could home in on my radio."
