WHEN Maxwell White found out his uncle had Leukaemia, he was determined to stay positive.
The Highwoods Primary School pupil decided to start fundraising for Leukaemia research, by sitting in a bath of beans.
He raised more than £800 in aid of the charity supporting people like his uncle, Stuart Bennett, who was diagnosed three years ago.
This year, at his 10th birthday party, he shaved his hair with the help of his eager friends, for Macmillan’s Brave the Shave.
His mum, Sonya, said he had great fun doing it, and instead of birthday gifts, Maxwell had asked for donations to the charity.
His total so far from the head shave is £780.
His mum said: “His inspiration came from his uncle, he has been fighting leu- kaemia for more than years and is doing good.
“His cousins shaved their hair off earlier in the year, raising thousands for Cancer Research.
“He then challenged himself to do something this year and here it is, watch this space for his fundraising next year.”
