TWO cars crashed on the A12 after containers fell off the back of a trailer.
It took place northbound at Junction 26 at Stanway, shortly before 3.30pm on Saturday, June 24, near to the A1124.
A large green plastic dustbin and a smaller yellow container had fallen off a trailer, which was being towed by a silver vehicle described as a 4x4 or people-carrier.
Both the dustbin and the container fell directly onto the road and caused a grey Toyota Yaris and a white Audi A4 to crash with each other.
Officers would like to speak with the driver of the silver vehicle, which the items fell from.
The driver, a white man, thought to be in his 50s, stopped further along the road from the incident and collected the items from the carriage-way, before driving-off.
Anyone with dash cam footage or information connected to the incident is asked to contact Pc David Scott at Stanway Roads Policing Unit on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
