A TEENAGE menace has been caught driving for a third time without ever having a licence.

Dawid Kryszczuk has reached nine driving offences and been jailed for a second time for his reckless behaviour on the road.

Kryszczuk, 19, admitted the latest offences at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.

The Polish glass worker, who moved to the UK five years ago and who smiled and laughed in court, was first caught as a 17-year-old driving the wrong way along the restricted North Hill bus lane before crashing and fleeing in a Toyota Yaris.

He was banned from driving for 12 months in January 2016 after being convicted of driving without due care and attention, without a licence, without insurance, as well as for failing to stop and failing to report an accident.

But he continued to drive. In July police spotted a silver Vauxhall Meriva driving erratically on Ipswich Road, Colchester..

The car sped around a roundabout in the wrong lane and police gave chase.

The driver then stopped in Myland Hall Chase and fled on foot. He got away but gave away his identity after leaving his probation report from the first set of offences in the car.

Kryszczuk, of St Botolph’s Street, Colchester, admitted driving while disqualified and driving without insurance in November.

He was sent to a Young Offender Institution for 12 weeks.

On May 4, he was caught behind the wheel again.

Lesla Small, prosecuting, said: “It was 4.30pm and officers on duty saw a black Ford Focus at Middleborough. They followed at speed.” Kryszczuk stopped the car.

He admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance, again.

Lucy Osbourne, mitigating, said: “He understands he is in a serious position. He comes prepared.

“It was his friend’s car.

“His friend had consumed too much alcohol. He asked him to drive.

“With the benefit of hindsight he would have left the car where it was.”

The chairman of the bench said: “You have left us with no option whatsoever. You have blatantly disregarded court orders.

“You were told when disqualified last time the offence is likely to lead to imprisonment.”

He was sentenced to 12 weeks behind bars and given a six month driving ban.

There was no separate penalty for driving without insurance but any future licence will be endorsed.
