A COLCHESTER shopping street is the star of a mouth-watering commercial created by world famous chocolatiers, Cadbury.
Trinity Street was closed off for a day by a 35-strong crew in June while the ad was filmed.
It was chosen for its quaint cobbled charm with purple bunting and banners adding a splash of Cadbury’s trademark colour.
The online ad offers chocolate fans the chance to have a virtual walk down Memory Lane with special adaptations made to the shops and cafes.
Tymperleys tea room in Trinity Street was used as the headquarters for the filming.
Manager Alice Charrington said: “We were so excited they had chosen Trinity Street and we were even more honoured by our selection because they discovered us through our street party to help celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday in the summer.
“It felt like Christmas had come early.”
Paul Ridley-Thomas, of Icarus hairdressing in Trinity Street, added: “It is good kudos for Trinity Street.
“It is about the last unspoilt street in Colchester.”
The street recently scooped a clutch of In Bloom awards.
The ad is now online here until January.
