• FRESH plans for homes 86 homes in north Colchester have been submitted after the original application was rejected in July.

Persimmon Homes wants to build 62 houses and 26 apartments off Axial Way in Colchester.

A similar scheme was turned down by Colchester Council’s planning committee in July after nearby company Flakt Woods lodged fears residents would complain about the noise their business made and the lack of parking.

The developer has made revisions to the scheme.

Colchester Council has the final say.

  • A KITCHEN company could expand into new premises in Stanway.

Wentworth Kitchens is based in North Station Road, Colchester, but wants to take on a showroom on the Angora Business Park in Peartree Road.

The new site would allow them to take on more staff.

Colchester Council has the final say.

  • FOUR bungalows are proposed at the back of Homefield, Church Road, Brightlingsea.

South East Development, of East Bergholt, has submitted a full application to Tendring Council.

It said the 0.35ha site is within the settlement boundary of Brightlingsea and the homes would “relate to the character of the area without having an impact on the neighbouring properties.”

  • AN OFFICE block could be converted to flats.

Reunion House, in Jackson Road, Clacton, consists of a ground floor parade of eight shops and four office suites arranged over the first and second floors.

Planning permission has already being granted for a roof extension to create eight flats at roof level.

The latest proposal from Frinton property developer K Kandiah is to change the use of the first and second floors of the building from offices to homes.

If approved, there would be 18 flats on the first and second floors. The ground floor would remain as businesses.

Tendring Council has the final say.

  • TEN homes have been proposed on a “strip of scrubland” in Elmstead.

The outline application describes the site off Bromley Road as “natural infill” between two housing schemes.

Access would be from a new service road to run parallel with Bromley Road.

The application says the homes, which are within walking distance of Elmstead Market, would be similar to others in the area and “create a welcoming street scene”.

Tendring Council will decide whether the development can go ahead.
