THE exclusive private Osea Island will be hosting a celebration of music, food and drink curated by former Clash guitarist Mick Jones.

Jones will be joined by the enfant terrible of modern cooking Michael O’Hare.

However, the event, which starts today, does not come cheap with guests paying £449 for a ticket.

As part of the package, the guests will be transported to Osea Island, which has been renamed Krug Island for the day.

The name change is in honour of the Champagne house which is an event partner.

Jones has assembled a music line-up which includes indie rockers The Mystery Jets, elusive London-based producer Rationale and Hollie Cook, the daughter of Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook.

Food is provided by the “maverick with a mullet” O’Hare, who runs the Michelin-starred restaurant The Man Behind The Curtain in Leeds.

The 400-acre Osea Island, off the Maldon coast, is normally a tranquil place, famed for its breathtaking wildlife and its exclusivity.

It is only reachable at dawn and dusk when at low tide Blackwater Estuary reveals the ancient causeway which was built in Roman times.

However, in recent years, its secluded position has appealed to London’s hedonistic high society with big names able to let their hair down away from prying eyes.

Tickets for the Krug Island event are available from Krugisland.com and include transport, an overnight stay on Osea and all food and Krug champagne.
