SPECTACULAR fireworks will light up the skies over Clacton as part of the town’s airshow for the first time.
Tendring Council has joined forces with Clacton Pier to put on a dazzling display.
The fireworks will follow the night flights on the first day of the airshow, on August 25.
Pier boss Billy Ball said: “We put on fireworks on key dates throughout the year and when the Council approached us we decided we would join forces with them as an added attraction for the airshow.”
Organisers have also confirmed the MiG-15 jet fighter, the Bronco and the Extreme XA41 as late additions to the line-up.
Council tourism and culture cabinet boss Tanya Ferguson said: “Everything is coming together nicely and with the night flights, fireworks and other attractions this really does promise to be one of the best airshows ever.
“The team behind the event are working hard and we are getting extra flights all the time with more to be announced.”
Among the crowd-pleasers already announced are the Red Arrows, the Typhoon, and the Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
It is the 25th anniversary Clacton Airshow this year, taking place over August 25 and 26.
