THE Sixth Form College on North Hill has seen thousands of students pass through its corridors since it was established in 1987.

Even Colchester music legends, Blur, visited for a gig in 1994.

The historic college building was first opened in 1912 and was originally home to the Gilberd School, which moved to Highwoods in 1980.

Gilberd was previously one of three grammar schools in town before it was turned into a comprehensive.

After the Gilberd had moved, The Sixth Form College came into being in 1987.

Here is part one of our gallery of old pictures from the 80s and 90s.
