TALENTED young dancers are preparing for their part in a professional production of Sleeping Beauty.

Olivia Deighton, 10, from Tiptree, Lara Swan, 11, from Colchester and Tabatha Willmore, 12, from Great Bentley, will be part of the English Youth Ballet’s show at the Theatre Royal Norwich on June 24 and 25 and will also star top class international dancers.

More than 200 youngsters tried out but only half were offered the chance to take part in the production which is being put on by the English Youth Ballet.

The girls are gearing up for the ballet with intensive rehearsals under the watchful eye of the EYB’s ballet mistress Julianne Rice-Oxley, who has danced with English National Ballet and Lisbon National Ballet.

She said: “The young dancers are treated like professional dancers during rehearsals – we work them hard but the results are fantastic.

“They learn what the life of a professional dancer is like. They are living their dream."
