ESSEX has already had one axe man taking part in Sky’s Guitar Star television series.
And may be you can be the next?
Last year Clacton singer/songwriter Adrian Nation made it through to the final 16 in Sky Arts’ Guitar Star from thousands of entrants.
As part of the competition one of his highlights was the chance to spend two days at the John Henry Studios in London working with Mexican acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela.
And there are similar opportunities on offer for the finalists in the next series.
Producers from the show are going to be in Colchester next week trying to find the guitar stars of the future at a special showcase taking place at the Bull pub in Crouch Street.
It takes place in the pub’s Soundhouse venue on Wednesday, February 10, with doors opening at 6pm.
There will be no cameras, just two production assistants, who are looking for solo guitar players, not singer songwriters, from all genres.
Before that the Soundhouse hosts its first Silent Disco of the year this Saturday, February 6, from 9.30pm when one of the DJs taking part will be the Gazette’s Neil D’Arcy-Jones.
