COLCHESTER’S MP Will Quince paused from politics to pose for a selfie with a pop star.
Tory Mr Quince met Sam Smith, the artist behind the new James Bond film track, the Writing's On TheWall, at a music event at the Houses of Parliament.
Mr Quince is a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Music, which aims to recognise the economic value and cultural significance of the music sector.
The Let it Beeb event on Monday celebrated the role the BBC plays in spotting new talent. Singer songwriter Jake Bugg performed to MPs and celebrities including Smith and comedian Patrick Kielty.
Mr Quince, a classicallytrained singer who belted out Nessun Dorma at the launch of Colchester’s Firstsite art gallery’s open exhibition launch, said: “I am a big fan of the BBC and what they do around music.
“I happened to be standing right next to Sam and am quite a big fan of his. I had a quick chat with him and he took a selfie.”
