Two new headteachers have been appointed at both of Witham’s secondary schools.
John Szynal, who was appointed as executive headteacher at Maltings Academy and New Rickstones Academy last month, has picked two staff members to take on the day-to-day running of the schools.
Emma Baker, who has been vice principal in charge of quality and standards at Maltings for four years, will become Maltings’ head from September.
Damian Lee, Maltings Academy’s vice principal in charge of student progress and wellbeing, will take over from Trenica King as headteacher at New Rickstones.
The positions, which were revealed on Monday, have emerged after the Academies Enterprise Trust’s plans to merge the two schools were axed.
