A group of friends who host an annual charity coffee morning has seen it grow from just a small meeting in a living room to a whole village event.
For the last 12 years, Margaret Clover, Mary Ismay and other women living in Kelvedon have hosted the Macmillan Coffee Morning at the Kelvedon Labour Club in the High Street.
From such small beginnings at Mrs Clover’s home in London Road, the group have raised an incredibe £14,000 over the years.
Mrs Clover said: “My sister-in-law lost her brother so that’s why we did the first one. We only had about a dozen people and we made a couple of hundred pounds."
