Teams are being urged to enter this year's It's A Knockout competition, part of Colchester Military Festival.
The contest has a theme of nursery rhymes, so participants will be awarded extra points for fancy dress.
It is one of many activities which will take place during the festival, to be held on June 16 at Abbey Field, Colchester.
The event will include battle re-enactments, Bold Dog Lings motorcycle display team and the Red Devils parachute display team.
The competition will be run by Knockout Challenge Ltd on behalf of Colchester Garrison.
Each knockout team must pay an administration fee of £20 which will be donated to a charity nominated for the festival, and teams are also free to raise money for their chosen charity.
Places are limited to 12 teams and the closing date for entries is no later than May 11 - they will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
