A spectacular sculpture rising out of the sea off Walton can be built, the Gazette can reveal.
A study into the Lost Town project has found the project to be technically feasible.
The proposal for a steel sculpture of a church is expected to attract up to 75,000 visitors a year.
The project aims to commemorate the loss of the medieval All Saints Church in the late 18th century, and to highlight the ongoing impact of coastal erosion on communities.
It is the work of award-winning German architects Anne Nieman and Johannes Ingrisch, who said: "We are delighted with such a positive outcome."
