LONE women are being terrorised by a pervert lurking at a Colchester beauty spot.

At least two victims have been forced to seek help in nearby schools and pubs after being chased by a man who has exposed himself to them.

Police investigating the incidents, in Hilly Fields, Colchester, believe more women may have been targeted by the man, butmay not have reported it.

In the first incident, last Friday, a woman in her fifties was followed by the man while walking through the park onher own shortly before 5pm.

She realised the man was behind her and sawhim exposing himself.

She started to run, with the man giving chase until she reached the safe haven of the Hospital Arms Pub,onthecornerof HospitalLane andCrouchStreet.Onceinside,she called the police.

The man was seen to run off towardsStMary’s.

A police spokesman said: “The suspect isawhite male in his early thirties.

“Hewaswearingablackwoollen hat, a black, baggy jacket down to his hips, with white stripes down each arm, black jeans, washed out through the thighs and knees, and trainers.”

The second incident came on Monday, again just before 5pm, when a woman in her thirties was followed while walking through the parkonher own.

She first spotted a man in the bushes but as she walked past, along a path through the park, he ran across in front of her into another bush while exposing himself.

The woman sped up to get away and as she looked back, he was still standing by the edge of a bush exposing himself.

The woman called police on her mobile and fled with the man runningafterher.

SheranalongSussex Road, into Kingswode Hoe School whereacaretaker took care of her.

She described the man as about 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall, white, slim and withagaunt looking face.

He was in his thirties and wearing a black woollen hat, a grey jumper with horizontal stripes and dark-blue faded jeans.

The police spokesman added: “This is unacceptable behaviour and obviously distressing for the victims.

“Weare doing everything we can to stop and catch him. We would welcome any information from the public.”
