Greater Anglia passengers have been warned to expect delays after a person was hit by a train at Harold Wood station.
The incident took place at about 10.45am.
All four lines running through the station were initially closed, but the station reopened at about noon.
Customers are being warned to expect delays and cancellations as services return to normal.
Greater Anglia tickets are being accepted on c2c train services due to the disruption.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: “We were called to Harold Wood station to reports of a person hit by a train.
“The incident was reported at 10.43am and officers attended with colleagues from Metropolitan Police Service.
“London Ambulance Service medics also attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers will now work to identify the person and inform their family.
“The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
