STUDENT Camille Corti-Georgiou is set to cast aside creature comforts and spend 24 hours on the streets.
Camille, 19, from Abberton, will forsake food, water, money – even her mobile phone – when she takes on the charity challenge.
All the Manchester University student will have is a sleeping bag and pals Phoebe Bell and Abi Strickley for company.
Camille said: “We all live in the centre of Manchester. We walk around every day and there are a lot of homeless people and not much is done about it, so we thought we’d try to raise some money for Shelter.”
The trio will start the challenge at noon on Friday, April 17, wandering the city centre, before bedding down for the night under a bridge.
Camille, a former pupil at Colne Community School, Brightlingsea, and Colchester Sixth Form College, said the best the girls could do to equip themselves was to wear several layers of clothing.
The first year politics and Spanish student said: “We’re going to try to eat lots the night before. Everyone is a bit nervous, but we are excited as well.”
