Fire leaves homes without power
RESIDENTS on parts of Mersea Island were left without power after an electricity pole caught fire.
Fire fighters from West Mersea were called to the fire in Moore Lane, East Mersea, around 9.20pm on Saturday.
The electricity board isolated the power line which left some homes in the area without power for about an hour.
The incident was dealt with by 10.20pm.
