SOLICITOR Howard Ogden is to face a disciplinary hearing after the

trial of his former client Frederick West, who faces 12 murder charges,

it was disclosed yesterday. Mr Ogden, 40, faces allegations that he

breached solicitors' rules concerning an alleged conflict of interest.

Mr West sacked Mr Ogden from his prison cell after newspaper

allegations that the lawyer offered his client's life story for sale in

film or book rights totalling #1m. The allegations apparently centre on

more than 20 hours of taped interviews Mr Ogden had with Mr West. The

decision to adjourn the case against Cheltenham-based Mr Ogden until

next November 23 and 24 was taken at a pre-trial hearing of the

Solicitors' Disciplinary Tribunal in London.
