The family of a woman killed by a dangerous driver have spoken of their shock after he was caught behind the wheel of a car again while still banned.

Marc Harvey was serving a seven-year ban for causing the death of Valerie Upson, 57, when police caught him driving in October.

Harvey, 26, had been released early on licence from a five-year prison sentence for causing death by dangerous driving.

Mrs Upson died when his car was involved in a collision with her van, in Dovercourt, in August 2001.

Last week, he was sent back to prison for 30 weeks after he admitted driving while disqualified, possession of cannabis, having no insurance and obstructing a police officer.

Mrs Upson's daughter, Vikki Sharp, 34, told the Evening Gazette: "It was bad enough at the time when he killed my mum.

"He is completely arrogant and hasn't shown any remorse.

"He just doesn't care about anything."
