So when do we start building an ark?
Torrential downpours flooded roads and fields leaving rivers of water running across the countryside.
Harwich police said they had been told about surface water in Beaumont Road in Great Oakley, Oakley Road in Wix, Hall Lane in Dovercourt, and across large areas of Ramsey.
However, although roads were often difficult to drive through, Dovercourt firefighters said they were not needed to clear water from any homes.
