THE reopening of a bridge which has faced repeated delays has been put back yet again.
Essex County Council has revealed the bridge in Spring Lane, Colchester, will not be finished until Thursday, April 2.
Work to replace the bridge began more than a year ago and was due to finish last August. But workers faced a number of complications, including flooding and poor ground conditions.
At the start of this month, the council announced the work would finally finish on March 20, but this has now been pushed back another two weeks.
A spokesman for Essex Highways said: “The works are scheduled to be completed on April 2.
“The date has been put back to allow unforeseen road drainage works to be completed.”
