The number of parking spaces at Colchester General Hospital is set to rise by more than 190.
In total, 191 spaces will be created, with 180 being provided by extensions and alterations being made to the main public car park.
Planning permission has been granted by Colchester Borough Council and work is expected to start in mid-March.
Nick Chatten, Special Projects Director at Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This is good news for patients and visitors because it is well-known that at certain times of the day, particularly during weekdays, it is not always easy to find a parking space."
