Hundreds of guests helped to raise £7,500 for St Helena Hospice.
Volunteers ran stalls, a cafe, and tombola and painted children’s faces at the Colchester-based hospice’s Christmas Bazaar.
The event was held at the hospice’s shop, in Peartree Road, Stanway, on Saturday.
Indi Allen, organiser, said: “To raise £7,500 between 9.30am and 4pm is just amazing and we are so grateful to the people, not just from Colchester, but from across north Essex, who came to support us.”
Businesses donated equipment so a cafe could be run at no charge and all proceeds could go to the hospice.
Some 15 stalls were also set up, selling craft items and potential Christmas presents, while Father Christmas kept little ones entertained.
