FORMER Stanway school pupil Stevie Ritchie has made it through another week of XFactor.
The 33-year-old sung Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody surrounded by leather-clad dancers during Saturday night's ITV show.
Before the performance Simon Cowell said Stevie, in his over's category, is "fast becoming England's rock god."
Last week Stevie returned to his former workplace, Start Rescue’s call centre, in North Station Road, Colchester.
He said: "Knowing I have got all this support behind me has made me so much more determined."
The Queen vs Michael Jackson night saw Stevie take on the famous tune, which had a mixed results from the judges.
Louis Walsh, said: "You became a rock god. I think Freddy would have liked it if he was alive."
Mel B said: "You are a lovely guy. The bad bit is I feel I took some weird acid trip."
Simon Cowell said: "This is the performance you are going to be remembered for."
