A DAY centre for autistic adults has been inundated with offers of replacement bikes following a burglary.
Kind hearted residents offered to replace nine bikes stolen by heartless burglars.
They were taken from the Jigsaw Centre, run by Autism Anglia, in Gosbecks Road last month.
Manager Paula Whiting said: “We have had so many calls already, a really great response.
“There are bad people out there but this proves there are more good than bad.”
Bikes have also been donated by staff at neighbouring Kent Blaxill, which was also burgled.
Police are appealing for information following a series of break-ins which took place overnight between Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21.
A window was jimmied open and a messy search carried out at the building merchants before the crooks climbed into the Jigsaw Centre and stole nine bikes from the sheds.
Anyone with information about the burglaries call Colchester police station on 101.
