LITTLE Gracie-Leigh Tarrant was given three weeks to live when she was born.

But she has defied the doctors and will celebrate her third birthday tomorrow.

Gracie-Leigh is one of only two children in the world with the severe combination of complex heart and intestine conditions.

She spent the first 11 months of her life in intensive care at Addenbrooke’s, in Cambridge, and London’s Great Ormond Street hospitals, and was not expected to survive.

But, supported by her family, Gracie-Leigh will celebrate the birthday her family never throught she would have with a trip to Alton Towers to see her favourite TV character, Peppa Pig.

Her mum, Fay, 22, of Viscount Drive, Colchester, said: “When I first had her, the doctors gave her three weeks.

“She amazes everyone and I am just in awe of her. Every day is a miracle and we live every day as it comes.”
