China’s nuclear power heavy weights are looking to build an atmomic reactor in Bradwell, according to national reports.
Bradwell’s party decomissioned Magnox power plant is said to be a new favourite for a Chinese-built and designed plant.
French utility company EDF and Beijing’s early talks identified the area as a likely site for a new station.
Elsewhere in the county, China General Nuclear Power Corporation and China Nuclear Corporation have agreed to help fund the UK’s first new £16bn atomic power plant in nearly two decades.
It will be built at Hinckley Point, Somerset, by EDF.
