A MAN has been charged in connection with an incident where a bus was stolen from a depot in Colchester.

Police were called shortly before 4am on Saturday after reports a single decker bus had been driven away from a depot in Magdalen Street.

The force used an immobilising device to stop it in Avon Way approximately 20 minutes later.

Ashley Barrell, 19, of Charles Pell Road in Colchester was charged with aggravated vehicle taking, drink driving, driving without insurance and driving without a license.

He has been bailed to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on September 9.

"He has been bailed to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on September 9."
Where he will receive a four month suspended sentence and go back to doing this or something worse. Having said that what does this say for the security at the bus depot.
