Government funding cuts are being blamed for the closure of an IT department at a learning centre.
TBG Learning, in Southway, Colchester, will stop running certain IT training courses for adults on April 5.
Operations director Sue Gidman said: "Funding for IT training through further education has been reduced over the last two years and is due to be reduced further in 2007.
"This means it is no longer viable for TBG Learning Colchester to deliver this type of training for adults and, unfortunately, we have had to take the decision to stop enrolments on these courses.
"We will, however, be continuing to offer a variety of learning opportunities for adults, including IT and Skills for Life through Learndirect."
