Disruption to rail services continued this morning after a Witham woman died after being hit by a train last night.
A British Transport Police spokesman said:"Our officers were called to Chelmsford station at 9.45pm last night after reports a person had been hit by a train.
"Essex Police and East of England Ambulance service also attended the incident.
"A 53-year-old woman from Witham was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Her death is currently being treated as non-suspcious. The woman's family has been informed.
"A file is being prepared for the coroner."
This morning's services continued to be disrupted following the woman's death.
